Start with the colorful streets and old medinas of Marrakech or Fes, drive through the Atlas Mountains, spend some time on the Atlantic coast, and then head south toward the Sahara. One of my favorite experiences is Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi dunes. The landscape is incredible around sunset, but the desert is just as special early in the morning when everything is quiet.
