| About Me | My name is Lynne. I am originally from South Africa, now living in Lincolnshire, UK. I really wanted to go into business for myself, and so after much research and many hours of studying, The Big Surprise Ltd was born. It originally started as an idea to break into the niche of surprise and mystery destination holidays. That is a tough niche to break into though as a newbie and an unknown in the industry. So, whilst it is still a core focus of mine, I have branched out into being a full-service Travel Agent. I have booked quite a few mystery trips already and recently had my first successful international departure, with another to follow soon in May 2024, and quite a regular influx of requests for quotations now. Mostly I have booked quite a lot of cruises and honeymoons. These are markets I understand well, and which have the products that I feel offer great value. I also book a lot of city breaks and general all-inclusive package holidays. I work under a consortium called Travel by Inspire (Inspire Europe Ltd) as an Independent Travel Associate (AKA ‘homeworker’ as we’re called in the industry). They provide me with so much support and training, as well as give me the licencing I need to trade, such as ATOL and ABTA bonding. This gives my clients financial peace of mind, and they also offer a trust services, which means your money has an extra layer of protection that most other agents cannot offer. On top of all that, Inspire sit under The Advantage Travel Partnership, so you couldn’t be in any safer hands. Apart from travelling as much as I can myself, even if it’s just locally, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé, Terry and my incredibly cute Yorkshire Terrier, Shady. We are big fan of forest or beach walks, braais (bbqs), and watching movies or series. We also love going to live comedy gigs and saw Michael McIntyre in March this year with Sarah Millican to follow in July. We’ve also seen Jeff Dunham, Ed Byrne and Jon Richardson live. Terry is not a fan of flying, not that I am, but I can cope a bit better than he does, so we’re partial to a cruise because I love being on the water and he doesn’t have to get on a plane. We’re doing a destination wedding and honeymoon combination though in Mauritius in May 2025, and I cannot wait. Terry on the other hand is already riddled with anxiety, so I understand the ‘no-fly’ product offerings in my industry better than most. |
